What rocks the world of Bunk’d actress Peyton List? Who are her role models? What’s her beauty obsession? And where in the world would she most like to live? We quiz the Disney Channel star to find out her secrets…
NUMBER ONE: AS A KID, PEYTON HAD A VERY UNUSUAL AMBITION
When I was younger, I really wanted to be a bus driver. That was my biggest dream! I know it sounds a little crazy, but I was very social at school and I was always getting into trouble for talking. I thought to myself, ‘I want to hang out with the kids on the bus. I could talk all day and not get into any trouble!’ I’m learning to drive right now, which is really exciting. I’m pretty sure I’m going to pass my test, but I guess I’ll have to make sure I keep my eyes on the road rather than chat too much in the car.
NUMBER TWO: PEYTON HAS A LIPSTICK OBSESSION
Wherever I am in the world, I always have some lipstick with me. Right now, my favourite is a maroon lipstick. You’ll always find it in my bag! I have a pretty huge obsession with lipsticks and lip-glosses. It’s a little crazy. At one point, I had about 20 in my bag! I took them all out and counted them, so I know the number. That’s a lot, right?
NUMBER THREE: PEYTON’S FAVOURITE HOBBY IS HIKING
I feel really lucky to live in Los Angeles. It’s great because I get to do a lot of outdoor activities all year round. Above all, I really love hiking. I live on a hillside and there’s a hiking trail close to my house with a big swing and a tree at the top. Whenever my friends come over, I always tell them to bring their work-out clothes so that we can hike up there. It’s a 30-minute hike, which is great. If I want to get a really good work-out, I go up and down twice!
NUMBER FOUR: PEYTON’S ROLE MODELS ARE TWO FORMER DISNEY CHANNEL STARS
When it comes to acting, I really admire the talent and work of Emma Stone. I think she’s amazing! Did you know that one of her very first jobs was on a Disney Channel show? The writers on Jessie also wrote The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody and The Suite Life On Deck. They told me that Emma worked here on Disney Channel, which I thought was really cool. She is definitely my acting role model, although Debby Ryan is another. Debby is really cool, especially since she’s been on Disney for so long. It’s been nice to have someone to look up to in that way.
NUMBER FIVE: PEYTON’S BIGGEST FEAR HAS TO DO WITH TRAVEL
There’s a story behind my most irrational fear. It’s all about something my uncle told me a while ago. My uncle grew up in New York and he was once stuck on the subway for four hours. He was stuck on the train in between stations, so he had to squeeze out of the carriage while it was underground – and then he had to walk along the tracks to get to safety. Now, I have this huge fear of getting stuck on the subway! I’d hate it. I’m not scared of the dark or anything, but I’d hate to be stuck underground in the middle of nowhere.
NUMBER SIX: HER FAVOURITE DISNEY CHARACTER IS MULAN
I’m a huge fan of Disney movies and Disney princesses. Disney movies are always amazing! I saw Mulan for the first time recently and I really loved it. In fact, Mulan is my favourite Disney character! She’s so cool. I think she looks amazing and I love the way she can kick butt. I grew up with two brothers, so I know how to handle myself – just like Mulan. She’s a very, very cool lady.
NUMBER SEVEN: PEYTON WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN EUROPE!
If I could move to any city in the world, I’d pick Paris. I’ve always wanted to visit Paris. I have a big obsession with chocolate croissants and I’d love to try one there. I’ve never been to France, but I’ve heard Paris is great for shopping and I really like the thought of Parisian culture. It’s such a chic city. I’d love to pop on a beret and wander around the streets. That would be bliss!
NUMBER EIGHT: PEYTON’S ULTIMATE DAY OUT INVOLVES A BALLET BARRE!
If I could go anywhere and do anything for the ultimate day out, I’d head out to brunch with my family. Afterwards, I’d go watch a movie – but the day would also involve some form of exercise, too. Recently, I’ve really enjoyed going to exercise classes involving a ballet barre. I’m the most inflexible person in the world, but these classes are great because there’s a lot of ballet movement incorporated into the exercise. I’m hoping to see if I can eventually do the splits!
NUMBER NINE: PEYTON’S PHONE IS HER PRIZE POSSESSION!
I am pretty obsessed with my phone. In fact, I don’t think I could live without it! My phone comes with me everywhere I go and my bills have become huge, which is a bit of a worry. My parents said to me the other day, ‘Right, we have to get some sort of unlimited data plan for Peyton because it’s getting out of control!’ I’m always on Instagram and Twitter, so my data usage is a little high. In Jessie, my character has to get a job because her phone bill is so high and she has to learn about taking responsibility for herself. I guess I’m very similar to my character in that way!
NUMBER TEN: PEYTON’S FASHION ICON IS A FELLOW ACTRESS!
I love fashion and I’m a big fan of Gossip Girl, which is why my fashion icon is Blake Lively. I always love the outfits Blake wears in the show – and she’s really cool in real life, too. I’m always looking up her outfits of the day on Instagram and Pinterest! Blake recently had a baby, but somehow she still looks perfect. She’s amazing! I love to take inspiration from what she wears and incorporate it into my own outfits – but I definitely have my own style, too. How would I describe my sense of style? I think I’m a mix of Olivia Palermo and Blake Lively with a little twist of my own!
